Welcome, Caitlin Evans – Digital Education Co-ordinator

Hello! My name is Caitlin, and I recently joined the Digital Education Team as a part-time Digital Education Co-ordinator. I’m pleased to introduce myself and I’m excited to be getting started in my new role.

I grew up in Aberystwyth and recently moved back here from Washington, D.C. after graduating from my MA in Media and Strategic Communication. During my two years in the US, I also worked as an Assistant Editor for a student environmental journalism platform and as a Teaching Assistant for a journalism professor and former CNN anchor.

Prior to my master’s, I completed my BA in French and Japanese at Cardiff University, during which I spent a year abroad studying in both Clermont-Ferrand (a small, university town – sort of like the Aberystwyth of central France and perhaps familiar to you if you’re a rugby fan) and Tokyo.

I absolutely loved living abroad and I had the most incredible and rewarding experience immersing myself in different cultures, visiting new places, and meeting people from across the world. It definitely sparked my desire to live abroad and I’m usually thinking about where I want to go next!

Aside from my love of languages and travelling, I also love books and spend a lot of my free time reading. My goal is to eventually write my own book! I really love music and concerts, eating good food, and drinking good coffee – especially if it’s with friends. I also enjoy running – particularly when it’s along the beautiful Ceredigion coast – and I’m about to start training for the Cardiff Half-Marathon!

I’m excited to get started in this role and continue my work in higher education, and I look forward to meeting and supporting students and staff from across the university.
