Why take part in Fix Your Content Day?

Because accessibility is everyone’s responsibility.

On November 10, 2026, Aberystwyth University will join institutions worldwide for Fix Your Content Day 2026 hosted by Anthology. Read on for a few reasons why you should get involved.

Accessible content means every student has the opportunity to learn

Is your Blackboard content accessible? Are your learning materials inclusive to all learners? Accessibility issues shouldn’t hold students back from learning, and making Blackboard content as accessible as possible benefits all our students.

Ally makes this easier than ever – helping instructors design accessible materials and offering alternative formats to students, making sure all students can engage with their studies. You don’t need to fix everything at once – Ally makes it easy to identify the issues and prioritise the most important fixes.

Every change, big or small, makes a difference.

Having materials in a format that students can easily use means that they can focus on their learning rather than struggling with inaccessible formats. This is particularly important at AU, where more than 28% of our students have a declared disability.

Drop-in session open to all

Our Digital Education Team is always on hand to help with accessibility, and on the 10th of November we will have a dedicated drop-in session to help you use Ally.

Come on by to B23 Llandinam between 2pm and 4pm for a cup of tea and put some time aside to improve your accessible content. You might be surprised by how much you can fix – just 15 minutes out of your day could mean an improved learning experience for your students.

This year, it’s even more of a competition!

We all love a bit of (friendly) competition, and this year we will be ranking improvements by department, so come and help your department take first place. In doing so, you’ll also improve the learning experience for your students. A win-win!

Friendly competition aside, the real aim is to work together to fix as many accessibility issues and course files as possible using Anthology Ally.

Please come along and support our ongoing commitment to an inclusive learning environment for all our students.

To help us keep track of attendance, please register online.

We hope to see you there!
