Y Rhestr Daro: 5 prif TipDigidol o 2023/24 ⏫🎉

Blogbost gan Shân Saunders (Cydlynydd Datblygu Sgiliau a Galluoedd Digidol)

Ym mis Medi 2023, dechreuodd y Tîm Sgiliau Digidol TipDigidol – blogbost wythnosol i dynnu sylw at awgrymiadau defnyddiol y gallwch eu defnyddio i wneud eich bywyd digidol dyddiol yn haws. Isod ceir y 5 prif TipDigidol o 2023/24.

  1. TipDigidol 5: Holltwch eich sgrin a chwblhau sawl tasg ar yr un pryd! ↔💻

Ydych chi’n gweithio ar un sgrin ac yn ei chael hi’n anodd? Ydych chi wedi blino ar newid rhwng dwy ffenestr? Oeddech chi’n gwybod y gallwch chi hollti’ch sgrin i weld dau beth ar unwaith sy’n ei gwneud hi’n llawer haws edrych ar ddwy ffenestr ar yr un pryd? Mae hyn yn golygu y gallwch weithio ar ddogfennau, tabiau a llawer mwy ochr yn ochr.

  1. TipDigidol 18: Mynegwch eich hun gydag Emojis gyda’r llwybr byr cudd ar y bysellfwrdd. 🥳🤩💖

Bydd y rhan fwyaf ohonom yn fwy cyfarwydd â defnyddio emojis ar ein ffonau symudol 📱, ond bydd adegau pan fyddwn eisiau cynnwys emojis wrth ddefnyddio ein gliniaduron neu gyfrifiaduron 💻. Yn hytrach na chwilio ar y we am yr emoji sydd ei angen arnoch, beth am ei gyrchu’n uniongyrchol o’ch bysellfwrdd!

  1. TipDigidol 8: Cyfyngu ar eich amser sgrolio ar Instagram📴

Ydych chi’n cael trafferth canolbwyntio ar eich gwaith? Ydych chi’n oedi a gohirio ar gyfryngau cymdeithasol? Ydych chi angen cyfyngu eich amser sgrolio? Oeddech chi’n gwybod y gallwch chi nawr gyfyngu ar eich amser sgrolio Instagram trwy’r gosodiadau ar Instagram?

  1. TipDigidol 21: Copïo a gludo cynnwys yn Word heb wneud llanast o’ch fformatio. 📃

Ydych chi erioed wedi copïo a gludo cynnwys o dudalen we neu ddogfen arall i ddogfen Word newydd a chanfod ei fod yn gwneud llanast llwyr o’ch fformatio? Yn ffodus, mae opsiynau ychwanegol y tu allan i’r opsiwn gludo sylfaenol (ctrl + v) a all helpu i ddatrys hyn!

  1. TipDigidol 6: Gosodwch eich statws am amser penodol yn MS Teams i ddangos eich bod yn brysur. 🔕

Weithiau, efallai y bydd angen i chi neilltuo peth amser i ganolbwyntio ar ddarn penodol o waith, ond sut allwch chi ddangos i bobl eraill sydd ar-lein hefyd eich bod chi’n brysur? Mae Microsoft Teams yn caniatáu ichi osod eich statws i Do not disturb, sy’n golygu na fydd hysbysiadau neu alwadau Teams yn tarfu arnoch (oni bai eich bod yn dewis derbyn y rhain gan bobl benodol), ond gall fod yn hawdd anghofio diffodd y statws hwn ar ôl i chi orffen.

Ymunwch â ni ym mis Hydref 2024 am fwy o’r TipDigidol, i ddilyn ein TipDigidol, tanysgrifiwch i’n Blog Sgiliau Digidol. Neu fel arall, gallwch lyfrnodi’r dudalen we hon, lle ychwanegir TipDigidol newydd bob wythnos gan ddechrau o fis Hydref!

The Hit List: Top 5 DigiTips from 2023/24 ⏫🎉

Blogpost by Shân Saunders (Digital Capabilities and Skills Development Coordinator)

In September 2023, the Digital Skills Team began DigiTips – a weekly blogpost to highlight a useful tip that you can use to make your daily digital life easier. Below are the top 5 DigiTips from 2023/24.

  1. DigiTip 5: Split your screen and multitask! ↔💻

Are you working on one screen and struggling? Are you tired of swapping between two windows? Did you know that you can split your screen to view two things at once making it much easier to view two windows at the same time. This means that you can work on documents, tabs and much more side-by-side.

  1. DigiTip 18: Express yourself with Emojis with the hidden keyboard shortcut 🥳🤩💖

Most of us will be more familiar with using emojis on our mobile phones 📱, but there will be times when we’ll want to include emojis when using our laptops or computers💻. Instead of googling for the emoji you need, why not access it directly from your keyboard!?

  1. DigiTip 8: Limit your scrolling time on Instagram. 📴

Are you struggling to concentrate on your work? Are you procrastinating on social media? Do you need to limit your scrolling time? Did you know you can now limit your Instagram scrolling time through the Instagram settings.

  1. DigiTip 21: Copy and paste content in Word without messing up your formatting. 📃

Have you ever copied and pasted content from a webpage or another document into a new Word document and found that it completely messes up your formatting? Luckily, there are additional options outside of the basic pasting option (ctrl+v) which can help solve this!

  1. DigiTip 6: Set your status for a set time in MS Teams to show that you’re busy. 🔕

Sometimes, you may need to set some time aside to concentrate on a particular piece of work, but how can you show other people who are also online that you’re busy? Microsoft Teams allows you to set your status to Do not disturb, meaning that you won’t be interrupted by Teams notifications or calls (unless you choose to receive these from specific people), but it can be too easy to forget to turn this status off once you’re finished.

Nesaf yn y gyfres: Diweddariadau newydd i’n hoff apiau darllen 📚

Blogbost gan Shân Saunders (Cydlynydd Datblygu Sgiliau a Galluoedd Digidol)

Ym mis Chwefror fe wnaethon ni ysgrifennu blogbost am apiau i helpu gyda’ch arferion darllen. Gan ei fod yn Ddiwrnod Cenedlaethol Carwyr Llyfrau, mae diweddariadau newydd i un o’r apiau a grybwyllir – Fable. Mae Fable yn gyfuniad o ap darllen a chyfryngau cymdeithasol lle gallwch weld diweddariadau gan ddarllenwyr eraill gan gynnwys eu barn am y llyfrau rydych eisoes wedi’u darllen a’r llyfrau yr hoffech eu darllen.

Mae diweddariadau diweddar yn cynnwys cael eich pyliau darllen a’ch cynnydd ar y dudalen hafan i gael mynediad hawdd. Yn ogystal, mae Fable bellach yn ymestyn allan o lyfrau gyda’r opsiwn i nodi’ch cynnydd ac ymuno â chlybiau ar gyfer rhaglenni teledu sy’n golygu y gallwch wylio penodau a thrafod eich hoff raglenni gyda selogion eraill. Ar hyn o bryd mae Fable hefyd yn profi sgwrsfot DA newydd o’r enw Scout lle rydych chi’n ychwanegu ysgogiadau am awgrymiadau ac argymhellion ar gyfer eich darlleniadau nesaf yn seiliedig ar ymadroddion a genres neu os ydych chi’n chwilio am rywbeth tebyg i’w ddarllen.

Y brif nodwedd newydd yw’r dudalen ystadegau. O dan eich proffil defnyddiwr, mae crynodeb darllenydd erbyn hyn, crynodeb DA sy’n diweddaru’n awtomatig ar ôl pob darlleniad. O fewn hyn mae graff hefyd o’r llyfrau rydych chi wedi’u darllen eleni gyda mewnwelediad darllenydd i pryd y disgwylir i chi gyrraedd eich targed darllen. Ynghyd â’r teclyn pyliau darllen ar y dudalen hafan, gallwch weld faint rydych chi wedi’i ddarllen yn ystod y misoedd blaenorol gan gynnwys eich pwl darllen hiraf. Gallwch hefyd weld graff gyda’r genres a ddarllenwyd amlaf gennych ac o dan hyn gallwch weld y sgôr cyfartalog o lyfrau rydych chi wedi’u darllen.

Next in the Series: New updates to our favourite reading apps 📚

Blogpost by Shân Saunders (Digital Capabilities and Skills Development Coordinator)

In February we wrote a blogpost about apps to help with your reading habits. As it’s National Book Lover’s Day, there are new updates to one of the apps mentioned – Fable. Fable is a combination of a reading app and social media where you can see updates from other readers including opinions that they have on your previously read and want to read books.

Recent updates include having your reading streak and progress update bar on the homepage for easy access. Additionally, Fable is now branching out from books with the option to mark your progress and join clubs for TV shows meaning you can watch episodes and discuss your favourite shows with other fans. Fable is also currently testing a new AI chatbot called Scout where you input prompts for suggestions and recommendations for your next reads based on tropes and genres or if you’re looking for something similar to another read.

The main new feature is the stats page. Under your user profile, there is now a reader summary, a little AI summary which automatically updates after every read. Within this there is also a graph of the books you have read this year with a reader insight into when you’re due to reach your reading goal. Along with the reading streak widget on the homepage, you can view how much you read in previous months including your longest reading streak. You can also view a graph with your most read genres and underneath this you can see your average rating of books you have read.
