About the Marine Biological Association Postgraduate Conference

The MBA Postgraduate Conference is an initiative started in 2002 which aims to engage with, and make a contribution to, the marine biological postgraduate community. It is run for and by postgraduate students and this highly successful conference not only provides a supportive environment for postgrads to share their work but also acts as a catalysis for networking and building collaborations that often last a lifetime!

Who can attend the conference?

The conference is run for and by postgraduate students (E.g., Masters and PhD students) in the field of marine biology. Postgraduate students may attend in person or online. Undergraduate students in the field of marine biology are also welcomed to attend online only.

Can I attend the conference without presenting?

You are welcome to attend the conference without presenting! Come along and listen to presentations, and network with your peers and keynote speakers! We encourage our attendees to submit an application to present, as it is a great opportunity to practice your presentation skills in a supportive environment.

Do I have to attend the conference in person?

We encourage postgraduates to attend the conference in person, as it provides a valuable chance to network with your peers and keynote speakers. This year, we will not be accepting online posters or pre-recorded talks, so, if you would like to present you must attend in-person. However, if you would like to just watch the prestation you can register to attend either in person or online, where we will be streaming conference presentations.
