{"id":792,"date":"2021-10-08T10:27:06","date_gmt":"2021-10-08T09:27:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.aber.ac.uk\/research-festival\/?page_id=792"},"modified":"2021-10-11T15:22:13","modified_gmt":"2021-10-11T14:22:13","slug":"ffotoaber-competition","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.aber.ac.uk\/research-festival\/ffotoaber-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"FfotoAber Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1181\" height=\"1165\" src=\"https:\/\/wordpress.aber.ac.uk\/research-festival\/files\/2021\/10\/FfotoAberMaster_Logo.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-793\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We&#8217;ve teamed up with Aberystwyth&#8217;s annual FfotoAber photo marathon to create a new prize category for Aberystwyth University students.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The competition is being held online on&nbsp;<strong>Saturday 23 October 2021 <\/strong> &nbsp;and the task will be to take six photos on six different themes (either with a mobile phone or digital camera).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The themes will be released on the day on FfotoAber\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/FfotoAber\/\">Facebook<\/a>, Twitter and Instagram accounts, with three themes revealed at 10:00 and a further three at 13:00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Instagram @ffotoaber<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/FfotoAber\/\">facebook.com\/FfotoAber<\/a><\/li><li>Twitter @FfotoAber<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Contestants will then need to upload their six photos to a special digital platform which will be open between 15:00 and 21:00 on 23 October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prizes will be awarded for the best set of photos in each category and the best photo from each theme \u2013 with prizes including&nbsp;<strong>vouchers for \u00a340-\u00a350 to be spent in local shops and businesses<\/strong>&nbsp;such as Ultracomida, Median, Aber Ffoto shop or the Arts Centre on campus.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The competition\u2019s four categories this year are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li>Aberystwyth University students<\/li><li>Primary Age (11 and under)<\/li><li>Secondary Age (ages 12-18)<\/li><li>19 and over<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All the entries will be exhibited in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.library.wales\/\">National Library<\/a>&nbsp;and on the University\u2019s digital platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There\u2019s a\u00a0<strong>limited number of places for competitors so students should register as early as possible<\/strong>\u00a0by sending an email from their aber.ac.uk account to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:ffotoaber@gmail.com\">ffot<\/a><a href=\"mailto:ffotomarathon@gmail.com\">omarathon@gmail.com\u00a0<\/a>stating their name, contact details and which category they&#8217;re entering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019re sponsoring this year\u2019s event as part of our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.aber.ac.uk\/research-festival\/programme\/\">Festival of Research programme<\/a>&nbsp;and we hope it will be an opportunity for new and returning students to take a closer look at their local environment through the lens of a camera. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Terms and Conditions for FfotoAber&#8217;s Photomarathon 2021<br><\/strong><br>1 . FfotoAber&#8217;s Photomarathon is a digital event. You can take part with a digital camera or mobile phone.&nbsp;<br><br>2 . You need to take 6 pictures on 6 themes, in the order that the themes are released, i.e. theme 1 will be picture1 etc.<br><br>3 . There will be four competition categories \u2013 primary age (11 and under), secondary age (12-18), open (19 and older) and one category for Aberystwyth University students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4. Each picture must be taken during the Photomarathon held on Saturday, 23 October 2021.<br><br>6 . Themes will be released as follows \u2013 three themes at 10 am on Saturday and and three themes at 1pm on Saturday and they will be released on FfotoAber\u2019s social media pages.<br><br>7 . Your six images (and only six images, in the order of the themes released) will need to be uploaded between 3pm and 9pm on Saturday.&nbsp;<strong>It will not be possible to upload photos prior to 3pm on Saturday or after 9pm on Saturday.<\/strong><br><br>8 . To upload we will send the relevant information for each competitor, after they have registered.<br><br>9 .&nbsp;&nbsp;The photographer will own the copyright to the photographs, however FfotoAber will have the right to display and publish the pictures as part of the competition and in the interests of promoting the FfotoAber Festival and the photomarathon without any remuneration and do so on any platform \u2013 website, social media etc.<br><br>10 . All entrants take part at their own risk.<br><br>11. There will be a prize for best set in each category and also for best individual picture in each theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">12.
