AI has moved very quickly from \u201cWhat even is this?\u201d to \u201cIt\u2019s everywhere and I\u2019m not sure how I feel about it.<em>\u201d<\/em> It can get pretty confusing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That\u2019s exactly why we\u2019ve created our new AI Literacy course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rather than telling you <em>what<\/em> to do, the course focuses on helping you decide what\u2019s right for you. Because using AI isn\u2019t just a technical question, it\u2019s an ethical one too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As you move through the course, you\u2019ll explore questions like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What actually is AI?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Am I still doing my own thinking?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Can I trust this output?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What am I sharing, and where is it going?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We look at AI as a study partner, not a shortcut. It might be a tool that can help you plan, explain, or get unstuck, but it\u2019s not there to replace your learning. Along the way, we connect AI to things that you will be developing at university, and which we hope will serve you well in the future: critical thinking, information literacy, and ethical awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You\u2019ll also explore what\u2019s really happening when you use these tools, including data privacy, referencing pitfalls, accessibility, environmental impact, and how well (or badly) they handle the Welsh language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Importantly, the course also makes space for a perfectly valid position: What if I don\u2019t want to use AI at all?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We hope that the course will give you the confidence to make an informed choice, and not just follow the crowd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AI isn\u2019t going away. It\u2019s already built into the tools you use every day, from search and email to library resources and learning platforms. This course isn\u2019t about chasing the latest trend.
