{"id":7056,"date":"2023-11-30T15:36:04","date_gmt":"2023-11-30T15:36:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.aber.ac.uk\/e-learning\/?p=7056"},"modified":"2024-04-10T14:53:05","modified_gmt":"2024-04-10T13:53:05","slug":"creating-blackboard-tests-for-online-exams-in-ultra","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.aber.ac.uk\/e-learning\/2023\/11\/30\/creating-blackboard-tests-for-online-exams-in-ultra\/","title":{"rendered":"Creating Blackboard Tests for Online Exams in Ultra"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Test settings have changed in Blackboard Ultra and the arrangements for conducting an exam have also been updated<\/strong> <strong>this year.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These are the main changes: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Only one random access code may be generated prior to the test. This code is automatically generated in the form of a 6-digit numerical code when you check the \u2018Access code required\u2019 option, which will be the case for ALL online in-person Exams using BB tests. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Module coordinators will attend the face-to-face examination for their module (for the first 30 minutes). If it is not possible to attend, arrange a substitute. Being physically present for the examination enables the Module coordinators to generate a second access code 30 minutes after the exams starts and to circulate this code with the exam team. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Module coordinators can liaise with the exams office via <a href=\"mailto:eosstaff@aber.ac.uk\">eosstaff@aber.ac.uk<\/a> prior to exam day to discover which invigilating staff will be in attendance during their exam and collate their names and usernames.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/wordpress.aber.ac.uk\/e-learning\/files\/2023\/11\/Image-for-blogpost-21_11_23-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7090\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wordpress.aber.ac.uk\/e-learning\/files\/2023\/11\/Image-for-blogpost-21_11_23-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/wordpress.aber.ac.uk\/e-learning\/files\/2023\/11\/Image-for-blogpost-21_11_23-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/wordpress.aber.ac.uk\/e-learning\/files\/2023\/11\/Image-for-blogpost-21_11_23-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/wordpress.aber.ac.uk\/e-learning\/files\/2023\/11\/Image-for-blogpost-21_11_23-712x401.jpg 712w, https:\/\/wordpress.aber.ac.uk\/e-learning\/files\/2023\/11\/Image-for-blogpost-21_11_23.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We have prepared new guidance which explains these changes fully: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aber.ac.uk\/en\/media\/departmental\/informationservices\/e-learning\/ultra\/Ultra-Blackboard-Tests-for-In-Person-Exams-Guide.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Blackboard Tests for In-person Exams Guide<\/a>.\u00a0It&#8217;s an idea to set aside enough time to prepare the test and read the new guidance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to these changes, the E-learning team will be offering additional training sessions on \u2018Preparing for Online Exams\u2019 on 5 and 11 December. Register for the training on: <a href=\"https:\/\/stafftraining.aber.ac.uk\/sd\/list_courses.php\">CPD Staff Training<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is also an updated FAQ on Blackboard with more information on <a href=\"https:\/\/faqs.aber.ac.uk\/index.php?id=2936\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/faqs.aber.ac.uk\/index.php?id=2936\">creating Blackboard tests for online exams<\/a>.
