Because accessibility is everyone’s responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On November 10, 2026, Aberystwyth University will join institutions worldwide for Fix Your Content Day 2026 hosted by Anthology. Read on for a few reasons why you should get involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accessible content means\u00a0every student has the opportunity to learn<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Is your Blackboard content accessible? Are your learning materials inclusive to all learners? Accessibility issues shouldn’t hold students back from learning, and making Blackboard content as accessible as possible benefits all our students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ally makes this easier than ever \u2013 helping instructors design accessible materials and offering alternative formats to students, making sure all students can engage with their studies.\u00a0You don’t need to fix everything at once\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Ally makes it easy to identify the issues and prioritise\u00a0the most important fixes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every change, big or small, makes a difference.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having materials in a format that students can easily use means that they can focus on their learning rather than struggling with inaccessible formats.\u00a0This is particularly important at AU, where\u00a0more than 28% of our students have a declared disability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drop-in session open to all<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our Digital Education Team is always on hand to help with accessibility, and on the 10th<\/sup>\u00a0of November we will have a\u00a0dedicated drop-in session to help you use Ally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Come on by to B23 Llandinam between 2pm and 4pm for a cup of tea and put some time aside to improve your accessible content. You might be surprised by how much you can fix \u2013 just 15 minutes out of your day could mean an improved learning experience for your students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, it\u2019s even more of a competition!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We all love a bit of (friendly) competition, and this year we will be ranking improvements by department, so come and help your department take first place. In doing so, you\u2019ll also improve the learning experience for your students. A win-win!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friendly competition aside, the real aim is to work together to fix as many accessibility issues and course files as possible using Anthology Ally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
