{"id":10624,"date":"2026-10-05T13:14:20","date_gmt":"2026-10-05T12:14:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.aber.ac.uk\/e-learning\/?p=10624"},"modified":"2026-10-05T13:14:21","modified_gmt":"2026-10-05T12:14:21","slug":"turnitin-statement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.aber.ac.uk\/e-learning\/2026\/10\/05\/turnitin-statement\/","title":{"rendered":"Turnitin Statement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1925\" height=\"496\" src=\"http:\/\/wordpress.aber.ac.uk\/e-learning\/files\/2025\/06\/Assessment-Banner.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9438\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Further to our <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.aber.ac.uk\/e-learning\/2026\/09\/22\/turnitin-and-user-license-agreement-an-update\/\">previous blogpost<\/a>, Turnitin has now released a statement to address the concerns that staff and students have over the proposed user license agreement changes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>In response to concerns raised by UK universities and colleges, which have been channelled through UCISA, Turnitin postponed the issue of a new End-User Licence Agreement (EULA) until September 2027. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Turnitin have also committed to redrafting the EULA and will work in partnership with UCISA who represent educational institutions across the UK to address any concerns and clarify key questions. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Turnitin has confirmed that no student or staff data has been used to develop any generative artificial intelligence (AI) models or large language models (LLM), and that they have no plans to use student essays in this way. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Turnitin recognise the growing concerns around data privacy and AI.
