His poetry has twice been shortlisted for the Forward Prize, and in 2004 he was chosen as one of the Next Generation poets. He is the editor of W.S. Graham\u2019s <em>New Collected Poems<\/em>, and author of a critical study of Graham, <em>Where the People Are<\/em>. He has published a novel, <em>WHOM<\/em>, and a collection of short stories, <em>Singing a Man to Death<\/em>, and his second novel, <em>The Book of the Needle<\/em>, is due out from Cinnamon Press in 2014.
