A poet and critic, he works at Aberystwyth University, where he teaches English literature and creative writing. In 2013, he was appointed the university&#8217;s Professor of Engagement with the Public Imagination. His creative work includes <em>Whiteout<\/em> (Parthian, 2006), co-authored with Damian Walford Davies; <em>The Fossil-Box<\/em> (Cinnamon, 2008); and <em>Wan-Hu&#8217;s Flying Chair<\/em> (Salt, 2009).
